Last December 2004, Engr. & Mrs. Rudolfo Niere, together with their sister Lilia N. Pabalate, visited their relatives in Digos City to see the ongoing community development work of CRCFI/Sowers International. (Engr. Rudolfo Niere has been the Chairman of the Board of Sowers International for several years). As orphans themselves who experienced the love and care of the Lord while in an orphanage in Ilo-Ilo City, they have long desired to establish an orphanage for orphans like them as a token of their deep gratitude to the Lord.

On December 2004, two important factors converged: the desire of the Nieres to establish an orphanage and the burden of Engr. & Mrs. Philip Pabalate (the local stewards of Sowers International-Philippines) to give orphans and abandoned children in depressed villages a brighter future. Engr. & Mrs. Rodulfo Niere declared their intent to allow CRCFI/Sowers International-Philippines to use their lot for the orphanage’s use and finance the construction of the orphanage building out of Mrs. Violeta Niere’s retirement benefits. (Mrs. Violeta Niere is a retired nurse in the States).

Mrs. Jo Pabalate was tasked to write the project proposal for the orphanage to be sent to the leadership of Sowers International (SI) for approval. The project proposal was submitted to the leadership in mid 2005. The proposal was then approved by SI Executive Director, Gwynn Lewis and SI Asian Director, Rev. Romeo Niere.

The funding for construction of the perimeter wall was sent in by the Nieres in November. The walls were completed in December. Construction of the orphanage building was started in January 2006 under the supervision of Engr. Philip N. Pabalate. The target date of completion was May 2006. The orphanage building was inaugurated and dedicated to the Lord last June 24, 2006. The first batch of 10 children was admitted to the orphanage the following day, June 25. Thus, the fulfillment of the vision! Glory to God!
